Teacher: Greer Stene
Cost: $20 plus materials (if needed)
Knit leaves of any size to add a hand made touch of fall to your home décor. These leaves can also be sewn together to create a beautiful fall shawl. Students should know how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off, and will learn how to create short rows using the wrap and turn technique.
Supplies Required for Class:
Yarn: Variegated or self-striping yarn. If the look of the leaves in the photo is desired, the yarn should not have long color repeats. Shorter color changes will yield more variation, especially on smaller leaves.
Needles: Size 4, 5, or 6 straight 8-inch bamboo needle (size of needle depends on yarn weight)
Other supplies: A pencil (not a pen) with an eraser to check off rows and make notes.
Students will receive a handout on wrap and turn as well as a website for demo and a set of notes that will make this easier.
Pattern: The pattern cost is $3.50 and can be purchased in the shop.
