December Cowl KAL

For our December Knit Along, we’re giving you the choice of two cowls—the 3 Color Cashmere Cowl or the Peeping Cowl—both by knitwear designer Joji Locatelli. Choose the 3 Color Cashmere Cowl if you want to practice a simple lace pattern or choose the Peeping Cowl if you want to practice knitting cable stitches. Both cowls are simple and quick. The sample in the image is knit with a Manos del Uruguay Fino mini skein Dorothea set. (All Manos mini skein sets have names that sound like they were plucked straight from a Jane Austen novel.)

Dates: Tuesdays in December (4, 11, 18)

Times: 5:30 - 7:00 pm

Cost: Knit along is free with purchase of HMYC yarn for the KAL, or $20 otherwise

Papagei Shawl KAL

Papagei is an asymmetrical shawl done in two contrasting colors of 400 yds or more each. The yarn chosen would look best in two contrasting solid colors, or a solid and a variegated color.   The whole shawl is done in garter stitch, starting at the tip of the triangle and binding off at the base, ending whenever you feel like it should. An easy to memorize pattern, the shawl incorporates an I-cord border and short rows.
